According to this video, Sonic CD was originally meant to be part of Sonic Mega Collection, but was taken out due to the difficulties in Mega CD Emulation on the Gamecube. Here we can see Sonic CD being a part of the selection screen, underneath all of the Sonic & Knuckles lock ons.

The main menu was also not implemented at the time, instead using this very basic section allowing you to choose the 4 main sections.

The title screen was also a little different, it simply said '(C) SEGA CORPORATION', but the final says (C), and a list of years from '91 to '96, and 2002. Also it would play Toot Toot Sonic Warrior instrumental, which was from Sonic CD.

The SEGA logo at the beginning also didn't have the classic 'SEGA' sound.

When entering the Sonic CD menu, it had a full, written out blurb for the game, and a quick, dodgy placement for the game pictures.

Clicking the manual option would open up the European Manual, including all of the languages present inside it. All other manuals in the final are from the USA.
