SEGASonic Arcade is the first real venture into the Arcade arena by Sonic. By some coincidence, the Beta is the only version currently emulated.

The title screen is a little different, it has no showing of Mighty or Ray at all. It also has no background.

Only 4 levels are playable, and each one has yet to get a final name at this stage. Volcanic Vault isn't give a beta name, Icy Isle is named "Ice World", and is the 4th world in the Beta, and second in the final. Desert Dodge is called "Desert Zone" and is the 5th level of the beta, and 3rd level of the final.

Trap Tower has the same name for both beta and final, but it's the second level of the beta, and 4th in the final. Landslide Limbo is called "Landslide Zone" and is the 3rd world in the Beta, and 5th in the final.

Two more levels, Wild Water Way and Eggman's Tower are not in this release.

The game will get all the way to Desert Dodge Zone, where you will get up to a section with sinking sand, and the ability to continue will be taken away from you.

As soon as the level is complete, it says "TO BE CONTINUED" and gives you a Game Over.
