Submitted by: Rlan This is the Sonic 1 Game Gear Prototype, and is based largely on the Master System version compared to the final game. This is a 'Press Demo', meaning a demo for magazines to use to get an idea on how the game works to then show in Magazines. A Magazine shoot of the Press Demo can be seen in the normal Sonic 1 GG section. |

Submitted by: Rlan There are many little different things between the Master System, GG Proto and GG final version, in which this page will quickly talk about. Firstly, the beginning of the prototype doesn't have the neat SEGA logo at the beginning. Just like the Master System version [without an opening BIOS screen], it automatically switches to the title screen. |

Submitted by: Rlan When the level first begins, Sonic is in an odd placement. The final game has Sonic at the far left, while the Prototype has him situated further right. He also begins with two rings behind him, which don't exist in any other version of the game in the same place. |

Submitted by: Rlan The same area in the Master System game. He begins in the same spot, but the tings are missing. In the prototype, the camera will snap back after a second to where it should be. |
