This
is one of the more interesting prototype screenshots of Sonic
3. Although basically just another Sonic 2 animation in Sonic
3, it has Sonic running down the hill which he snowboards down
in the final game. It's unknown whether Snowboarding was thought
of at the time.

second later another image was taken, with the same differences,
but now Sonic has got rings.
