Sonic 3 Preview was basically a 'reviewable code' version of Sonic 3, given to magazines to allow them to review the game before the given release date.

This scan is the front cover of the cart. The only thing signifying that it is Sonic 3 is half a VHS sticker.

Basically, the game is exactly the same, What is different about it is the saveram inside it.

Basically, the saveram doesn't last like the final does. Once you turn off the system, the save game is erased. Other than that, the game is the same, it even works with Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
