The Truck sequence in the E3 video of Sonic Adventure is quite different from the final version of the game. This first shot from the trailer maker is look like they've shrunken the Sonic model to make the chase look more dynamic, but is just some camera trickery. It also shows a lot of white smog coming out of the top of the Truck, but in the final only single streams are seen. |
Here we see Sonic flying down the street while the Truck follows. You'll notice the Tram car on the left, in the final some tracks can be seen, but they go downhill and to the right about half way down, not from the left. |
Here Sonic goes flying off the side of the main street, but he is able to pull off maneuvers without the addition of the jump pad. |
A Dynamic Camera angle not seen from the game shows Sonic again rocketing off the ground to perform another move, again without any assistance. The truck itself has also had a big redesign in the final. It looks a lot thinner at the front, with bigger lights, as well as having a GUN symbol added to the front |
For comparison, here is a picture of the GUN truck from the final. Notice that they have also added a new trailer at the back of it, which is nothing more than a gigantic 'G' crate. |
Here Sonic runs away from the truck for at least two seconds at full speed. In the final there is no straight, flat piece of land which extends for that long, only near the end, which lasts a little under one second. There is also a huge amount of smoke being pushed out from the top of the truck, even more than previous shots. The truck also passes under a few high walkway bridges during this scene, but in the final it's what makes it come to a final stop. |
Here Sonic lands a move, but it's a move he can't perform in the final. He twists around in the air from left to right. |
