This shot was taken out of an old Japanese catalogue, and shows a few interesting pictures. One is an early picture of Collision Chaos Zone, and the second is from a unfinished special stage which never made it into the final game.

'Cartoon Styled breaks' between levels, does it mean there were

EGM Magazine had this 6 page preview of Sonic CD way back in their November '93 issue. It's basically a quick look at the last few stages in the game, including Quartz Quadrant, Stardust Speedway, and Wacky Workbench.
