At
the very beginning of Seaside Hill, 3 boost rings would appear
after a "Flying" formation change gate, which would
fly you to the top of the small hill. The final game doesn't
include these, you simply run further ahead and hit some springs.

Because
the game didn't have complete voice overs at the time of E3,
there was no chatter between characters, and any hint boxes would
just show the text with a blue semitransparent rectangle surrounding
it. The text is different in the final game, and the blue rectangle
was deleted.

Because
there are no level ups in the E3 build, the little dots don't
appear next to the characters. Also whenever you pass a checkpoint
you'll recieve an item. For example, if you pass the gate with
Sonic, you'll get Speed Boots. If you pass with Knuckles you'll
get a shield.

In
the final version there are bits of block to the left and right
of Sonic a little further up, but the E3 demo doesn't have them.

These
3 rainbow rings seen here are not in the final game. In the
final a box can be found to the left which allow you to get
all the way across.

These
Balloons are twice as large in the final version. They were
made larger to probably make it easier.

To
the very VERY far back, underneath the far green strip, is completely
empty. In the final columns have been added where EggPawns shoot
down at you.

Again,
more voiceless hints.

This
is the end of Seaside Hill. In the final there is an additional
platform right before Sonic which allows him to land without
pressing foreward, and two more breakable blocks to the left
and right of him. In the E3 version they were yet to be added.

Finally,
the 'end stage' scene. The characters seem to float around the
place in thie early version, or it might be the odd camera choices.
