The Sonic & Knuckles pirate carts all have one thing in common: The lack of Lock-on. This being a very odd and probably expensive piece of kit, they simply put S&K into a normal cart, and leaving the Lock On Features out of the game. This is one such cart, which has no lock on features.

Here's a pirate Sonic & Knuckles box, using some surprisingly decent artwork. Any SEGA logo which could have been there has vanished.
