Sonic is seen wondering around what could be the very first version of the Chao Garden, possibly turned into the garden seen in the Mystic Ruins area. They all appear to be following Sonic around. This area is quite basic, using a completely flat surface with a few ruins like model surrounding it. There is no background either.

As seen in the above image, just more of the same. Again notice the ruins bits in the background, which seemed to make a comeback in the Hero garden in Sonic Adventure 2.

In this section of the prototype video, the Chao goes around in circles around Sonic, morphing into the many variations of chao in the final game.

In the prototype video, this 3D model of a Chao is shown. This is proof that at some point they were yellow/blue, before they made the odd decision to make them green/blue like in the final. It was changed back later in other games.

Also notice that the wings are much different, they're not lieelt pink ones like the final.

In the prototype video we see some Chao Adventure animations from the VMU game. When the Chao meets Sonic, Sonic's animation is very different from the final. For comparison, the final one is stuck to the side.
