Thanks
to IceKnight, Jagboy, Solly, and Reala for finding these sketches
from the Dreamcast Digital Presskit given away at the Nürnberges
Spielwaren Messe in 1999
Here is a sketchy painting of the Egg Carrier in it's first
form. It uses a lot more yellows than the final, making it look
more sinister. Click the image a larger version.

Here
are the walls inside the Egg Carrier. The painting makes it
look more darker andmysterious, and seems to be much larger
than the final, like a huge corridor rather than a main room.

Heres
an image of the monorail surrounding the Egg Carrier. The Eggman
face in the very back looks like it has a Viking hat on, and it
coloured very differently. For the large version, click the image. |
|
Heres
a quick original sketch of the Egg Carrier done on some graph paper.

It
looks like the Egg Carrier had a very different design at one point,
almost looking like the Submarine from Disneys 'Atlantis'. Theres
another sketch to look like an EggTrain as well. Click for the full
image. |
|
This
is a painting of the cockpit of Eggman's Egg Carrier. It's very
similar to the final design except for the dimples in the glass,
which you can't see in the game. Click the image for the larger
version. |

Some
more, cleaner sketches of the final Egg Carrier design. Click the

Some
closer to final sketches with some colour. This also shows off the
second mode as a sketch. Click the image for the large version. |
|
Here
are some renders of the Egg Carrier. It looks like some of these
were used in the cutscenes of the final game where the Egg Carrier
was in a scene with Eggman. Click the image for the large version. |
|
Also
